Inertial Labs Announces the Acquisition of MEMSENSE
Memsense, LLC Donates Leading Edge Inertial Measurement Development Kits to South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
Rapid City, SD (February12, 2020) – Memsense, LLC donates inertial measurement development kits to the electrical engineering department at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. Inertial measurement units are a key component in the expanding field of navigation and autonomous systems
“Partnering with a world class university graduating the engineers of tomorrow is something that we have wanted to do for some time,” says David Karlinski, Director of Sales Memsense and electrical engineering graduate of South Dakota Mines. “We are excited to see how students will implement and use these products to address the demands in the high-growth areas of sensors and autonomous systems.”
“On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of the South Dakota Mines Electrical Engineering Department, I wish to thank Memsense for their generous donation of these inertial measurement development kits. We are excited to have these kits available for use by our faculty and students. In the classroom, these cutting-edge components will illustrate state-of-the-art inertial measurement sensors for students in the EE 250/250L Electronic Sensors and Actuators/Lab course. Further, they will be of great use in research in several department areas such as the Unmanned & Swarm Systems Lab which investigates autonomous aerial vehicles,”says Thomas Montoya, Interim Head of Electrical Engineering at South Dakota Mines.
